Mogi das Cruzes Municipal Hospital Opens in Brás Cubas

The governor attended the facility's opening ceremony. The new facility is one of the most modern in the state and features Sincron nursing call systems.

One of the most modern public hospitals in the state of São Paulo was inaugurated on the 14th in Brás Cubas, Mogi das Cruzes. After three years of intense work, the facility was officially opened on the 14th of this month in the presence of Governor Geraldo Alckmin. The Mogi das Cruzes Municipal Hospital is equipped throughout its entire care infrastructure with Sincron’s Nursing Call Systems, making care faster and safer for the residents of Mogi das Cruzes.

The facility was inaugurated early this morning, but patient care is not expected to begin until early July, as the hospital will still undergo cleaning and pest control services. The facility is expected to begin operations gradually. First, the pediatric, women’s health, and general medicine outpatient clinics will open. However, to receive care at the facility, patients will need to obtain a referral from one of the city’s health clinics.

“We’re happy to see a hospital of this quality being opened to the public, since health care is currently the country’s biggest challenge and top priority,” said Governor Geraldo Alckmin, who attended the hospital’s opening ceremony and toured the facility on Saturday morning (the 14th).

Facilities

The hospital has the capacity to handle approximately 5,000 outpatient visits per month, in addition to performing 400 to 500 surgeries and 20,000 diagnostic tests. Spanning seven floors, the facility has 91 beds, including ten in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 12 observation beds in the Emergency Department. The facility will also offer live video streaming of surgeries, an online ICU monitoring center, a voice-activated nursing call system, and a 24-hour pediatric outpatient clinic.

In addition to specialized care for women, the facility will provide services in the areas of general medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, urology, otolaryngology, general surgery, and vascular surgery. It will perform minor and moderate surgeries such as hernia repair, phimosis correction, gallbladder removal, varicose vein treatment, and gynecological and urological surgeries.

The project cost R$ 35.5 million, with the state government investing R$ 18 million and the city government covering the remainder. Selected through a public call for proposals, the Charitable Association for Social and Hospital Assistance will be responsible for hiring staff and purchasing hospital equipment.

The governor also announced the allocation of R$ 30 million for the widening of Guilherme Giorgi Avenue, which connects Suzano to Mogi das Cruzes. “The agreement for the widening of Guilherme Giorgi Avenue is expected to be signed this week. As for the timeline, the city government will carry out the work, and we will provide the funding,” he says.
