FBAH Celebrates Its 48th Anniversary with the Implementation of a More Modern Management System

The Brazilian Federation of Hospital Administrators (FBAH) has just celebrated its 48th anniversary. To mark this new chapter, the organization’s entire board of directors participated in its first innovation workshop using thedesign thinking methodology. According to the organization’s president and CEO of Sincron, Liliana Cherfen, the goal of the meeting was to redesign the strategic plan and also to create new possibilities and opportunities for the organization’s sustainability.

About a year ago, the FBAH implemented a modern management approach that has preserved the organization’s legacy while incorporating new, more innovative and coordinated initiatives focused on its members and on the professional development of hospital administrators and healthcare managers. “It is a daily and ongoing challenge, as the federation has been undergoing various transformations; therefore, we will continue to pursue the organization’s mission, but we are gradually implementing the necessary changes to ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability,” notes Liliana Cherfen.

Adilson Bretherick, chairman of the FBAH’s Fiscal Council and a healthcare executive for over 30 years—currently CFO of Hospital das Clínicas—adds that the FBAH’s 48 years of existence enhance the institution’s representativeness. “These are 48 years of representing the large community of healthcare managers in the hospital sector. The FBAH has a track record of highly significant achievements. We can only celebrate its founding, its goals, and its results,” he commented.

And to put the new strategy into practice, the president is relying on a board of directors composed of members who were already active at FBAH, including professionals recognized throughout the healthcare industry.

“This is a board committed to change, and that is essential for us to operate in a more democratic and comprehensive manner. We have diverse areas of expertise, but they complement one another at every step we take,” he emphasizes.

What's New at Hospitalar

For the 26th edition of Hospitalar, the FBAH plans to introduce some new features, creating a more modern event. Renowned speakers from the literary world and consultants specializing in purpose and Leadership 4.0 are just a few examples of what will be featured. “We’re going to create a format specifically designed for hospital administrators and healthcare managers to provide them with content that’s relevant and essential to their day-to-day work. We’ll have discussions and share experiences,” says Cherfen.

The president also revealed that, in order to deliver excellence in her work, she relies on her partnership with Hospitalar. “It’s a historic alliance. Hospitalar has followed the organization’s entire development and, most importantly, has always supported us every step of the way. Our partnership is truly unique, and it can only grow stronger each year,” she concludes.
